What Are The Most Popular Posts On Lebenslustiger?

12 09 2014

It's really fascinating for me to see, how popular DIY's are these days and how creative people are.

From up-cycling scrap wood projects and wall art made of toilet paper rolls to jewelry making and of course lots of fiber works.

Everything seems possible and has DIY potential.

And I think, one of reasons why DIY's are so popular is, that the results always turn out unique.

The idea and inspiration is given but you have the possibility to put your own spin on it by choosing your favorite colors, material variation, additions etc.

So the result will be one-of-a-kind, very individual and showcasing your own creative style.

I have been making things as long as I can think back.

My parents grew up in times where making things yourselves by hand were necessary and normal.

I remember the kitchen in the house I grew up in in the seventies where I used to sit on a bench with a crochet hook and yarn making endless chains while my mother would cook or do a handwork project herself. Many of my clothes were sewn or knitted.

I even had yellow crocheted hippie pants! Yes - that's how old I am! :-)

I grew up and picked a creative profession - then I became a mother and my children attended alternativ schools with lots of handwork projects to be made. At some point I started blogging and the most popular posts on my blog are???

Right, DIY's! - See them all here...

So - for me there were never really a time with no happy busy hands but over the years I got a little more focused and I now only craft and design things I would really love to have myself.

These are the three most popular DIY post on Lebenslustiger so far:

- Leather bracelet tutorial

- Knitting a cord  (pictures in this post)

- Leather wrap bracelet tutorial

It's just simply very rewarding to make something with your own hands and nowadays it's so easy to connect, share ideas, tutorials, patterns and support on various sites, groups, communities, blogs...

Are you a DIY enthusiast, too?

If so, what do you think it's the most important reason why you love DIY's?

Or do you maybe have a different creative outlet like cooking?

All New - Online Interior Shops

16 01 2014

This weeks BIWYFI theme is "All New" and that fits our current situation perfectly.

In just a mere 6weeks we will move to the city loft!

Sometimes I can't believe we are really doing this - it's so exciting but at the same time also a bit frightening.

So much needs to be organized and planned while the apartment is still undergoing major renovations and is not finished yet.

I had so many jewelry orders and other design work to do in the last couple month that there was basically no time left to plan the interior.

Since we live in a half furnished space right now we will need a lot new furniture.

For example our old apartment has build in cabinets - which is a rare thing in Germany - but the new one hasn't. So I am looking at different cabinets right now to store our stuff.

Maybe we will end up with a sort of camping in the new place for the first weeks because I found it difficult to decide on so many important things all at once without even having a chance to develop a feeling for the new space.

At least we decided on who gets what room. It has been my priority that the kids are happy with their choice because the relocation makes them feel anxious.

Especially my ten year old daughter is afraid of the changes and feels quite insecure about how life in the city will be.

I am trying to comfort her by painting a positive outlook (which I truly believe in) and It's only 15miles away from the old village but still it will be a major change and she is old enough to know that.

In the midst of crazy planning for the things we "need" I do like to search for the pretty things - also for the sake of relaxation.

It's so nice to dream up the time when finally everything is done and in place and you get to decorate and personalize the new rooms.

Those are anyway the more important things, don't you agree :-)

So here are my inspirations and findings from last week.

(In case you missed my last online finds you can look them up here, here, here und here.)

- Restored - from the Netherlands: "Restored is all about beauty, balance and originality. We keep having faith in a revived world, where all fits together."

- &-designshop  - "Design is in our nature" - embracing young designers and fresh brands.

- Indoors/Outdoors - beautiful Tumblr!

- "Everyday Needs" - fantastic shop collection - located in New Zealand

How I Became An Interior Dealer - Loving HK Living

18 11 2013

By searching for interior additions to our new space

I feel in love with Dutch company HKliving!

( I also asked you for your secret tips here and thanks so much for responding via comments and e-mails!!!

I discovered quite a few new treasures!)

This round hanging chair looks amazing, don't you think?

I also like their unique lighting, textiles and accessories.

They really put a creative and "different" spin on their collection.

If you like, you can see their new catalogue here

But when I tried to find a dealer here in Germany to order from I found out, that there are only a few who carry HKliving products

and of those few none would carry the specific items I wanted...

So I contacted them directly in the Netherlands and they offered me to become a dealer myself!

Let me know, if you are interested in their products and I can send you the price-list.

More inspirations I found last week:

Also a beautiful (online) store based in the UK: White Punch

And another UK based business! Would you actually put a wallpaper on to create an old and worn look? I think it looks amazing on the picture but how will it look in real?

I want one!!! Genius idea!!!

Just so cozy... and I love their philosophy.

More absolutely beautiful stuff from France

Ok Ok - I HAVE to stop...

Happy Day,

Anette
