12 Parts Of A View - May

I am participating in a project where I photograph the same view over a course of a year.

I decided to document the changes from month to month on a group of trees in the fields I pass by every day for several times.

May's picture (the last in the row below) was shot yesterday late afternoon. It was a hazy day again with a bit of fog lingering around all day long. It had rained a lot the day before yesterday and it is still quite cold right now for this time of the year.

Finally I know, what will grow on the field in front of the trees! Sugar-beets!

It took many weeks for the little leafs to break thru the soil and show but now they are here.

Sparkle Blue!

Underwater on a sunny day...

It is so incredibly calm and peaceful under water - the resistance slows down my movements and gives me a free, floating slow motion feeling. I listen only to my even breath while fully taking in this amazing indescribable beauty.

So relaxing - I wish, i could be at the ocean right now...

What Is Bookcrossing?

Bookcrossing is a worldwide forum for book reading, book exchange and releasing books!

So - here is what happened.

Helga from Holunderblütchen found this absolutely adorable little book called "Elfi und Schmalzmann auf Wanderschaft" while jogging in a park.

Someone had put it in a bag and hung it on a tree so it could be found. By Helga.

And after Helga enjoyed it she decided to sent the book on a "blogger-journey" and I was next!

The small book is written in 1957 and tells about everyday life of a family that raises pets and rescues wild animals in their apartment!

Sounds - äh - a bit strange - but it really is a treasure with its black and white photographs and the glimpse into life short after war.

It brought many fond childhood memories back to me because my father raised a lot of animals too when my brother and I were young in the sixties and seventies.

As much as I would love to keep the book forever I will of course honor Helgas idea and send it to the next blogger: Holunder

Andrea lives in the south of Germany at beautiful Bodensee and loves animals and nature.

The book will be in good hands...

Another fun idea from Tabea and Müllerin Art: Die Frühlingspost!

After December's wonderful Adventspost it was now time to get creative with spring poetry:

"Frühling läßt sein blaues Band

Wieder flattern durch die Lüfte

Süße, wohlbekannte Düfte

Streifen ahnungsvoll das Land

Veilchen träumen schon,

Wollen balde kommen

Horch, von fern ein leiser Harfenton!

Frühling, ja Du bist's!

Dich hab ich vernommen!"

Divided into 9 lines means there will be 9 weeks of Spring in the mail

My 9 partners are:

Blickgewinkelt, Schreibtischwelten, Östlich der Sonne und westlich vom Mond, gabsARTig, Steffi's Papierzauber, GRISCHArte and Frollein Enerim.

Once all cards have arrived it will be summer (I love that thought!!!) and I will show you all cards i have received.

My line was: Streifen ahnungsvoll das Land...

I again used copper tape (like I did for the Advent mail art) and tried to engrave the letters from the back side. It didn't always work perfectly but I think it is readably. Some Masking tape and a little spring bracelet and off to the post office to bring joy!

I just found this adorable picture from almost 10 years ago. And I am sooooooooo in love!!! I feel like a young mother wanting to share all stories and tons of pictures

Oh, it is so true - they grow up way too fast - time is just flying by...

Signs Of Spring

We are still waiting but it won't be too long now before those sunny little yellow blots will take over the green spaces and a little later will send out their airy parachutists.

I had a truly wonderful day today because i got to pick up my son who has been away on a 7th grade class trip this week.

I had not heard from him since I said good bye to him Monday morning. He didn't answer my messages I left on his cell. Everyone told me I should not worry because that is what boys do when they go on a trip but I was a bit nervous.

Turned out he DID HAVE an amazing time in that forest camp. They went there to help planting young tree plants and clean up the forest. They were a great team and worked a lot. Everybody got along well and he thinks his class teacher is even cooler than he already thought he is.

So - I am really glad all went so well - there was no reason to be nervous. What a great experience for the kids. (He didn't even see my messages...)

And I could have saved the money on the shoes I bought to distract me while waiting for his bus to arrive

(But I like them a lot - I bought the same pair in grey two years ago and have been wearing them all the time)

Back at home we had cake to celebrate, carefully handled (and decontaminated) the forest clothes and ate the first spring herbs.

Then the mail came and I found out that one of my fabric yarn necklaces is part of the new DaWanda Summer Lovebook!

I worked a bit on a new DIY, got inspired by a Moroccan lantern, ate some Mangostane and hopefully will go out for a little walk later because the sun is shining today.

I am truly thankful for this great day.

A View In 12 Parts - March

Today is 12 parts day again!

A wonderful idea from Tabea: choose a point of view and photograph it every month. Here is my January picture and my February picture if you like to see it.

I decided on this little group of trees in the middle of the fields. There is also a bit of forrest and a village in near distance and a street to see.

I pass by this view every day several times and because of this high frequency I barely notice little every day changes.

So, I thought it will be very interesting to document the color and the structural changes of a piece of landscape from month to month in the yearly rhythm with a monthly picture.

Here is my March view.

I won't say anything about the snow anymore...

At least it was a beautiful sunny day when I took the picture a few days ago before we left for our trip to the North Sea.

Waiting For Green...

Oh my - I am SO SO waiting for green...

Winter seems very long this year and i am absolutely ready for some fresh spring green.

And I am really glad I took plenty of flower pictures in my mom's garden last year - looking at them really helps me to hang in there and push thru these - hopefully - last moments of snow and frost.

Winter Land

I am so glad I took a couple more pictures last week when I was out shooting the first of my "12 parts of a view" photos.

Because by now all snow has melted away with a dramatic temperature change from -6 to +6 in a single day!

Now it's all grey and very muddy outside - lot's of paw prints on my floor...

But here is how our magical winter land looked a few days ago:

What a wonderful idea!

Almost 300 bloggers participated in a gift exchange.

And look what i got!

Isn't that a super cute little bracelet? I LOVE it!!!! And the nail polish has a beautiful wintery color - there were also two tiny stamps.

I can't wait to make little silver pendants with them...

My partner for this fun event that was organized by LiebeleiBlogwichteln was Zoe von Golden&Pink and I send her a BIG kiss and a BIG hug for such nice presents.

It is a really wonderful and uplifting feeling to know, a stranger has put much thought into picking something special to make you happy.

And of course I was more than happy to do the same for Zoe.

And of course it had to be pink and golden...

But why on earth did I then sent her a SILVER colored bracelet and necklace...

I can't say...must be some sort of Christmas blindness...

Oh well - she said, she loved it anyway...

Hat - Love ...

I ordered this handmade knitted hat years ago from a handwork teacher at the Waldorfschool in Santa Barbara.

Her daughter made it. All you could order was: a hat. Just that.

You could't specify the color nor the shape, size or patterns. But I had seen a few of her hats and they were all cute and had this little "something" - of course they were all different.

So I decided to order one for my children. They were still quite little and couldn't express themselves very well, but they managed to make clear to me, that neither of them would EVER wear that hat after it arrived.

I still love the hat - not so much the colors but the shape and the different patterns - but it is too small for me...I would order a larger one (if she would let me specify... ) but I lost the contact.

So - if anyone of YOU is able to knit me a hat like this one - AND would let me pick the colors - then please e-mail me!!!
